Today, the city offers many high quality services for its residents. Documents dropped after 4:00 p.m. or on a Court Holiday are filed the next Court business day.

Judges for this court are appointed by the California Governor and serve a six-year term. When they have completed this term they can run for re-election in a county election process.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM

This program is dedicated to assisting the youth of the community in understanding the law and the justice system.
Included are:

• Classroom Speaker Program

Upon request judicial officers go to school to educate youth regarding the judiciary and the justice system.

• Courthouse Tour Program

During this tour, students are introduced to a Judge, the court room staff and the District Attorney staff. They are further informed regarding the rolls that each member of the court plays, including the court clerk, bailiff,

• Youth Leadership Academy

High school students are invited to participate in a five week summer program that provides career mentoring and more information regarding the justice system. Students are able to obtain 2 units of college credit upon completion of the program.
