Hall of Justice is located at 850 Bryant Street, San Francisco, CA, 94013, on the east side of Bryant Street, between 4th and 5th Streets. The Hall of Justice is adjacent to two other public buildings, the San Francisco Superior Courthouse and the Federal Building.
The Hall of Justice was originally built in 1926 as a combined police station, jail, and courthousen. It served as the headquarters of the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and the city’s courts for nearly 50 years, until both moved to new facilities in 1975. The Hall of Justice then became home to a number of city and county offices, as well as the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department (SFSD).
In 2015, the Hall of Justice underwent a $165 million renovation and expansion project. The project added a new wing to the building, which houses a public plaza, a new San Francisco Police Department headquarters, and additional office space for city and county agencies.
The Hall of Justice is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
