Superior Court of California is located at 450 H Street, Room 209, Crescent City, CA, 95531. The Superior Court of California is the trial court with general jurisdiction in California. The superior courts handle all civil, felony criminal, and juvenile cases.

The Superior Court of California has exclusive original jurisdiction over: probate; habeas corpus; election contests; and construction of state statutes and regulations. Most appeals from decisions of the superior courts are made to the California Court of Appeal.

The court has a general civil docket and a limited criminal docket. The general civil docket hears cases involving: contract disputes; personal injury; property damage; professional malpractice; fraud; and other civil matters. The limited criminal docket hears cases involving: misdemeanors; infractions; and traffic offenses.

The court also has a small claims division which hears cases involving: personal property damage; contracts; rentals; and other matters where the disputed amount is $5,000 or less. The family law division hears cases involving: divorce; child custody and visitation; child support; spousal support; and domestic violence.
