Sierra Division Courthouse

Sierra Division Courthouse is located at 40601 Road 274, Bass Lake, CA, 93604. This is a two-story, wood frame building with a basement that was constructed in 1898. The first floor of the courthouse contains the courtroom, clerk’s office, and a small waiting room. The second floor has two jail cells and a storage room. The basement houses the boiler and coal room.

The Sierra Division Courthouse is one of the oldest courthouses in California. It was built in 1898, just two years after the state was admitted to the union. The courthouse is located in Bass Lake, a small town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The town is named for its location on Bass Lake, a popular fishing and recreation spot.

The Sierra Division Courthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is one of only four courthouses in California that are on the National Register. The other three are the Superior Court of California in San Francisco, the Supreme Court of California in Sacramento, and the appellate court in Los Angeles.
