George E. McDonald Hall of Justice

George E. McDonald Hall of Justice is located at 2233 Shoreline Drive, Alameda, CA, 94501. The Hall of Justice was built in 1966 and is a government building that houses the Alameda County Superior Court. The building has a total of 12 courtrooms, and each courtroom is equipped with audio and video recording equipment. The courtrooms are also equipped with computers, printers, and photocopiers. There is a public library located on the first floor of the building. The public library is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There is also a law library located on the second floor of the building. The law library is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Hall of Justice is also home to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, and the Alameda County Probation Department. The building is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitors must enter the building through the main entrance located on Shoreline Drive. There is a security checkpoint located at the entrance, and all visitors are required to pass through a metal detector and have their bags searched.

The Alameda County Superior Court is responsible for handling all criminal and civil cases in the county.
