Civil Court Operations – SLO Superior Court, located at 1035 Palm Street Room, San Luis Obispo, CA, 93408, is a court of general jurisdiction that hears both civil and criminal cases. The court also has jurisdiction over juvenile proceedings, family law matters, and probate cases.

The Superior Court is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clerk’s office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The court has four full-time judges and two part-time judges.

The Superior Court hears both civil and criminal cases. Civil cases include small claims, landlord-tenant disputes, paternity actions, and other matters. Criminal cases include misdemeanors, felonies, and infractions. Juvenile proceedings are held for minors who are accused of crimes or who are considered to be at risk of harming themselves or others. Family law matters include divorce, child custody, and domestic violence. Probate cases involve the distribution of a person’s estate after they die.

The Superior Court offers a variety of services to the public. These services include: filing court documents, paying court fees, getting copies of court records, finding a lawyer, and more. The clerk’s office can help you with most of these services.
