Southwest Detention Center

The Southwest Detention Center was started in 1992 and began accommodating inmates a year later. The jail is located in French Valley. The French Valley is adjacent to Murrieta and Temecula. The Southwest Detention Center has temporary houses that are accommodated when a person is arrested. Bail Information

It is important to note that the bail is determined depending on the crime that the suspected person has committed. No inmate is authorized to receive any incoming calls in prison.

Inmates at the Southwest Detention Centre are authorized to be visited twice a week. The visits should be on the same day. One of the visits should be in the morning and the other one in the evening. The visiting period takes forty-five minutes only. The visits should be planned using policies that guide the inmates in prison. Each department has different visiting hours. The visiting hours are commonly between eight o’clock in the morning to ten o’clock at night. The visitors should be checked in and later checked out. The maximum number of visitors should be two adults and two children. The children should be accompanied by the guardian or the parent.

Inmates who have been convicted in a court of law are provided with all services. The new arrestees who are waiting for the case are offered limited services. The services that the inmates get include psychological counseling, work opportunities to prisoners who have demonstrated excellence behavior, and library services where they can read. They are also offered religious counseling and commissary. The drug addicts are provided with drugs and counseling services.

Inmate Accounts

Inmates are allowed to have in-house accounts that help them to buy drinks, cosmetics, writing materials, and hygiene materials. The cash that the inmate had at the time of arrest is deposited in his account. The relatives or friends are allowed to deposit the money into the inmates account all days in a week. This should be done between seven o’clock in the morning and nine o’clock in the evening. The jail either accepts the cash or the postal service money. The prison does not provide extra money. Depositing the exact money is important. The only means that is used to mail the money is the US postal service. The sender should provide the full name of the inmate and the number of the booking.

The numbers that are sent to the inmate per day are unlimited. This is the reason why the sender should provide the correct details of the inmate. Any material property that the prisoner possessed during the time of arrest is stored and returned to them on the date of their release. The inmate can designate another person to pick the property, but one must fill a form before the property is given to them. The designated person should provide official documents that are valid. The process does not need to be planned. It is completed upon the visit.
