Descanso Detention Facility

Descanso Detention Facility located at 7878 Campbell Ranch Road, Alpine, CA, 91901, is a detention facility operated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The facility opened in 2004 and can hold up to 744 detainees.

The conditions at Descanso have been criticized by detainees and advocates. In 2007, a detainee died after being denied medical care for pneumonia. In 2010, another detainee committed suicide after being held in solitary confinement for 10 days.
